Cavpower aims to provide our customers with exceptional service solutions. Our new purpose-built Service Operations Centre (SOC) is a testament to this. Located at Gepps Cross in the north of Adelaide alongside our Component Rebuild Centre, our new service facility comprises of 26 service bays fitted with overhead cranes ranging from 12.5 tonne up to 25 tonne. Our general workshop, engineering, welding and fabrication, build-up, field service, lube truck, paint shop and centralised service offices are located in this facility. Separate workshops at this site house our track press and wash bays.

Our highly trained technicians are experienced in equipment repairs to all Cat® and non-Cat products. Each of our branch locations has Caterpillar standard contamination-controlled workshop facilities that allow us to carry out work what is not able, or suitable, to be undertaken in the field, including:

  • All general mechanical repairs to the complete range of Caterpillar and non-Cat equipment, from mining machines to compact construction
  • Accident damage repairs with insurance quoting if required
  • Certified machine overhauls and rebuilds
  • Paint shop – repainting of machines up to 777 size dump trucks
  • New bucket, man basket, water tanks, truck body and tray, handrail design, manufacture and fabrication

Undercarriage Services

Undercarriage repairs, including track reconditioning and overhauls

With the only track press in South Australia, Cavpower operates a 375-tonne track press with the capacity to accommodate any machine size up to a D11 dozer. The stand-alone track press workshop is equipped with a 12.5 tonne overhead crane and 500 kg jib crane to provide the best undercarriage solutions.

Custom Track Service

Cavpower offers a Custom Track Service (CTS), a comprehensive program designed for management of undercarriage systems using the most advanced diagnostic equipment available, the Ultrasonic Wear Indicator. Cavpower’s highly trained staff can accurately monitor undercarriage performance and predict wear rates to propose most suitable service and maintenance options.

Our undercarriage services include:

  • “Wet” bushing turns maximise system life by giving bushings a “second life” with new wear surfaces
  • Roller re-shelling restores full wear life and saves money over full replacement by only replacing worn roller shells, leaving unworn internal components intact
  • Roller swapping ensures maximum system life by switching more- and less-worn rollers
  • Track shoe regrousering increases shoe life by replacing grouser barstock to the grouser surface

Welding and Machining

Our engineering team can repair, modify, design and fabricate new and used components to the highest quality and safety specification and standards.

Working closely with customers, we have produced bespoke solutions for a range of mining and construction applications including underground person carriers and work platforms, truck-mounted water tanks, cabin and frame modifications, buckets, handrail kits and guarding.

Hydraulic Solutions

Cavpower offers a full-service hydraulics workshop specialising in the repair and manufacture of large hydraulic cylinders, pumps, and motor servicing. A highly skilled team of machinists have the capability to rebuild general mining hydraulic components to meet and exceed industry standards.

The specialised hydraulics workshop offers Cat and non-Cat cylinder repairs, design and fabrication, re-rodding, re-barrelling, re-sealing, rod straightening, line boring and hose fabrication. In addition, Cavpower also offers hydraulic value-add solutions for various machine attachments including grading, sweeping, and safety-related solutions.

Our specialised workshop offers:

  • Cat and non-Cat cylinder repairs
  • Full production hone up to 16”
  • Rod re-chroming
  • Re-rodding
  • Re-barrelling

Hose Repairs and Replacement

Cavpower offers on-site support for hose repairs and replacement. We have the latest tooling for assembly of reusable and crimp assemblies up to 4” diameter for all brands of equipment; high, medium and low-pressure Cat® hoses to suit applications up to 6000psi; and an extensive range of Cat® hoses and fittings to suit all application.

We can also manufacture various hoses to your requirements at our Parts Distribution Centre. Orders are welcome over the phone or by walk-ins.
